1. You must choose only ONE country.  It can be ANY one!

  1. Lebanon

I wanted to study Christmas in Lebanon because a child in my class is from there! His name is Assaad! I learned a great deal!

One thing that I found interesting is that 35% of the people who live there follow a form of Christianity. These Maronite Catholics build mangers in their homes! I could connect to this because I have a nativity scene in my home too!

Another fact that I found fascinating is that that the types of decorations that we use in America such as poinsettias, Christmas lights and holly are becoming popular in Lebanon. Not everyone there likes it though because they feel those things make the holiday too commercial and do not focus on the true meaning of Christmas.
One tradition that I would like to adopt sounds delicious! When people visit other people’s homes during this Christmas period, they serve strong coffee with delectable sugared almonds. YUMMY! That sounds first-class! I wish we did that here.
As you can see, I learned some neat facts about Christmas in Lebanon. I hope that you have as much fun as I did learning about the traditions of others!

  6. Hungary,

A couple of things that I found interesting about Christmas in Hungary is they decorate a Christmas tree just like us. But the kids don't decorate it the Adults do.I thought that was really cool.
Another thing that I learned was that they eat a big feast on Christmas eve.The feast contains fish, cabbage, and poppy bread.
The last thing I learned was that there Christmas day is on December 6th.
